A fun night at the cabin

For Sunday dinner we decided to go to the cabin and roast hot dogs. Mike and Lisa were here from Kanab so we got everyone together. My kids love playing with their cousins, it's one of their most favorite things. So when we get that many together, it's a party! We missed Bryce and his family though!

The best part of the night was when Russ busted out the records and record player. None of the kids had a clue what they were! My dad found an old record and entertained us by doing the jitterbug with my mom!! It was so fun! The kids had such a blast watching them, so my dad gave them all jitterbug lessons! It was so cute.

There is nothing like spending time with your family and making memories. I love going to the cabin. It brings back so many memories to me. I spent most of my childhood here. I love taking my kids to the same place and making memories with them. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for such a fun night!

As everyone who read my last post knows, it was my birthday. I had a good day and lots of people remembered me which was great. The day was pretty busy though. I had to eat school lunch with Syd at 11, then Jonah had a dentist appt. at 1, picked up the kids at 3, made a big pot of broccoli soup for enrichment (actually, 2 pots, I burned the first one) and had to be there at 4 until 9. Justin kept texting me wondering when I'd be home, asking if I'd pick up some ice cream and cake on the way home because he didn't have anything for me. He'd bought a movie and wondered where it was because it was all he had to give me. I honestly didn't think anything of it, all I wanted was for the kids to be in bed when I got home. So I FINALLY left the church, got home and all the lights were off and it was quiet, so I was happy. Well, it didn't last long!! The lights came on and out jumps Justin, Hailey, Syd, Danny, Jonah, Darlene, Jordan and Karson!!!!! Wow! I was pretty surprised! If I planned someone a surprise party, I'd probably plan it for weeks! Not Justin, he came up with the idea and planned it in about a half hour!!! :) It was fun though, and the kids were so EXCITED! Especially Danny! Justin had taken all the kids to ALCO (hey, it's all we've got!) and they each picked something out for me, it was so cute! Thanks to my awsome family for making my day that much more fun!!

Today I feel Loved (and old)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I am officially thirty, which is a good thing because I have felt older than I really am for a very long time! I started my family young, and had all my kids pretty close together. Whenever I would shop for maternity clothes, I always heard, "is this your first?" And I never did like saying, "No, this is my third (or fourth, or fifth)" "You don't look old enough to have three (or four, or five) kids." Ya, I heard that A LOT! But here I am in my thirties and feeling good about it.

My phone rang and beeped with texts all morning long. I have so many great friends that remembered me today and I just want to tell them all THANKS! I really do have the best family and friends anyone could ask for.

I even started my morning off with breakfast in bed, compliments of Hailey, Sydni and Justin. I love my family and they must love me. Here are some reasons being a wife and mom of 5 are not so bad.......

Hailey loves me enough to always remember my birthday or mothers day and wake me up with breakfast in bed. She also gives great foot rubs, they do cost a dollar, but they're worth every penny.

Sydni loves me enough to tickle my arm for hours and always tell me she loves me before bed and when she leaves for school! She always tells me I'm pretty.

Jonah loves me enough to hug me and kiss me any time I want even though he thinks he is way too cool!!

Danny loves me enough to let me hold him and rock him, even though he is not a baby, Max is a baby. Which he reminds me of often!

Max loves me enough to take a binky so I can have my body to myself every once in a while.

Justin loves me enough to pat me on the bum every time he walks past me. In all honesty, it drives me a little crazy, but when he doesn't do it, I wonder if he's mad at me.

I really do have a great family.

Zion Ponderosa

We spent a WET weekend at Zion's. It was a really neat place we stayed at, but we could've enjoyed it a lot more if it wouldn't have rained the whole time! But we made the best of it, and still had a lot of fun. We went with Kim and Cory and had a nice cabin which was great. They had a big barn there with pool, ping pong, fooseball table and other stuff, so we did get to do a few activities. Kim and I played some indoor volleyball and realized we really need to practice if we're going to have a team! Sunday we left the cabin and drove through the Zion's Park. It was so pretty. Justin about freaked out when he looked in the back seat and all the kids were playing nintendo DS! They turned them off and enjoyed the scenery with us. They especially loved driving through the tunnels. We really loved this place and want to go back when the sun is shining.

The Canyon

I play the piano in primary, and Sunday was our program. After the program I am always wiped out, so I decided we were going to go to the canyon and roast some hot dogs for dinner. We got Darlene and Jeff and their boys to come along and we had a really fun time. The weather was perfect....not too hot, not too cold. We sat around the fire, roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, the kids hiked around and played football. I think Danny ate most the marshmallows and chocolate (as usual). I love being outside this time of year. The leaves are changing colors and it's so pretty up there. We even had some deer wander pretty close to our camp, then Danny saw them and they didn't stick around too long to listen to him. Max all bundled up with Brayden holding him.

Happy Birthday Hailey!

It seems like a lot of my postings lately have said......WHERE DOES THE TIME GO? But really, where does the time go? Hailey turned 10 on Sept. 22. We celebrated with Grandma's and Grandpa's on Sunday, then on Monday we took her to dinner at the pizza house. She really waned Darlene to come with us, so she did. It was fun. I can't believe she's 10 already. She's such a good girl. I know I don't give her the credit she deserves. She wakes up on her own, gets dressed, gets Sydni up and picks out her clothes. Does her hair (a little questionable at times) comes downstairs and practices the piano. What an awsome daughter. Not to mention all the other things she does to help me! She's a great babysitter! Hailey loves playing with her cousins. She's got a lot of cousins on both sides her age that she really loves. She's got some great friends at school too. I think her best friend of all is my mom. They have such a bond between them. It's really neat. Happy Birthday Hailey! I love you!



Danny decided he needed a late night snack after the other kids were in bed. Justin handed him this huge bowl of homemade ice cream, just to see what he would do. "Thanks dad, can I have a spoon?" So Justin gave him the biggest spoon he could find and Danny didn't mind at all. This is one funny kid!
