Special Day

Who would have thought she'd turn into such a toe head!

Syd and Uncle Nate. He's a pretty fun uncle!

Today was a very special day for our family. Syd was baptized by Nate, confirmed by Justin, then we blessed Max. Justin was a little stressed out giving two blessings back to back, but he did a GREAT job. Syd was so excited to be baptized. We got to the church this morning (I had to get up at 6:30 to make sure we were all ready and out the door by 10:30! Wow I have a lot of kids) and we were getting her jump suit out of the closet. I held it up to her and she said, "are there any dresses?" Ya, the jump suits aren't the prettiest, but she wore it and looked cute as ever. The bishop conducted and did a spotlight on Syd. Then LeAnn gave a wonderful talk. I kept looking at Syd and she really looked like she was listening and paying attention so she could remember everything LeAnn was saying. Then Syd sang, "I'm trying to be like Jesus". She always does such a cute job when she sings. Then Nate baptized her. When she came up out of the water, Danny said....."WHOA!!" (really loud) I guess he thought it was pretty cool. When I was helping Syd get dressed she said, "I don't think Nate stepped on my feet like he was going to, I don't know, maybe he did. I was having too much fun to notice." I thought that was so cute. While Syd was getting dressed, everyone watched a slide show Justin had made. It turned out really good, I cried the whole time. Both blessings were awsome and I was really proud of Justin. I thought I had a big job making the dinner for afterwards, but I would rather do that any day! Max was perfect through the whole blessing. After, we all came back to our house and had lunch in the backyard. It was perfect weather outside and I think everyone had a good time. Especially the big boys, they all ended up in the theater room playing PS3. I am realizing more every day how fast kids grow. As I watched Syd's slideshow I wished I could go back in time, just for a minute, and enjoy her more as a baby and toddler. It's gone by so fast it's hard to remember how she used to be. She is a good girl and I'm so glad she's my daughter. Before long she'll be a teenager and I'll be wishing I could remember her baptism!

Congrats Syd on your baptism and to Max too! What a fun day to have with family and friends. Can't believe that our children are getting old enough to be held accountable. It does take some pressure off our shoulders.
